You'll need to copy your transparent image to the clipboard, then after selecting the icon placement you want in Transparent App Icons, select "Customize" then the blue " The reason this is necessary is that sometimes the iOS Photos app automatically converts transparent backgrounds to white, so it's necessary to paste instead of just selecting a photo.
